You feel your best when you look your best

Do woman undergo hair transplant?

Many women place great importance on matters such as health and appearance. We understand that experiencing hair loss can take a serious hit on your self-image and self-confidence, but it doesn’t have to be this way.
Many people think that hair loss only affects men. However, it is estimated that more than 50% of women worldwide experience noticeable hair loss. If you are losing hair, a hair transplant can help you improve hair density, lower your hairline, and provide a permanent solution for female hair loss.

A hair transplant is a surgical technique that moves hair follicles from the back of the scalp (donor area) to a bald or balding part of the scalp (recipient area).
AT DHI, we let our results speak for itself. We are so confident of our hair transplant technique that we are giving a 97% hair follicle survival rate guarantee to all our patients. 4 Steps of a DHI Hair Transplant

01

02
Extraction
Extraction Hair follicles are manually extracted one by one from the donor area using sharp, titanium-coated punches with diameter of 0.75 – 1.1 mm, leaving no scars.
03
Implantation
Hair follicles are implanted directly using the patented DHI Implanter in a one-step process which ensures the right angle, direction and depth at the same time, ensuring 100% natural-looking results.
04
Lifelong Results
All steps in the DHI Hair Transplant are designed to guarantee you a min. of 97% hair follicle survival rate, leaving you with maximised results that will last a lifetime.

Got A Question about Female-Pattern Hair Loss?

We are an international medical group that specialises in hair loss with over 50 years of experience and scientific research.

  • Our hair transplant procedures are 100% done only by medical doctors.
  • Our methodology is ISO-certified.
  • Only clinic in the world to provide a 97% result guarantee for all our clients.
  • Having more hair fall out daily either on your hair brush, on the floor, in showers, on your pillows, or in the sink.
  • Noticeable patches of thinner or missing hair, including a part on the top of your head that gets wider.
  • Seeing scalp skin through hair.
  • Having smaller ponytails.
  • Hair breaks off very easily with minimal pulling.

Generally, humans shed between 50 – 100 single hairs per day. Hair shedding is normal but when hairs fall permanently and you have more hairs fall out than grow back, hair loss happens. Hair loss is different than hair shedding. The medical term for hair loss is “alopecia.”

For females, hair loss problems are usually more common in:

  • Women older than 40.
  • Women who just gave birth.
  • Women undergoing chemotherapy and those who have are affected by other medications.
  • Women who often have hairstyles that pull on the hair (like tight ponytails or tight braids) or use harsh chemicals on their hair.
  • Women experiencing menopause.
  • Genes: Your family’s genes can cause thinning of hair along the top of your head.
  • Age: Hormonal changes as you age can cause balding.
  • Menopause: Loss of oestrogen leading to hair loss.
  • Hair style: Hairstyles that pull on your roots, like tight ponytails and braids can cause a type of hair loss is called traction alopecia. If hair follicles are damaged, the loss can be permanent.
  • Vitamin deficiency.
  • Unhealthy dieting, leading to rapid weight loss or lack of nutrients.
  • Over processed scalp hair due to excessive colouring, straightening and perming.

The short answer is yes. However, whether or not you’re a suitable candidate for a hair transplant depends on a few factors which can only be assessed by our DHI Hair Specialist during the consultation.

Factors that we need to consider include family history of hair loss, age, onset of hair loss, progression of hair loss (if any), availability of donor hair, existing medical conditions and results of any prior or ongoing medical interventions.

In cases where you are a good fit for female hair transplant, the next step would be to take a blood test to rule out any other form of deficiency that may be contraindicated for the procedure.

Depending on what your desire, here are some of the results you can expect:

  • Full head of hair with no bald spots
  • Increased density and thickness
  • Lowered hairline (Ideally, a woman’s hairline should be somewhere between 5-6.5 cm above the eyebrows)

If you are worried about shaving your hair at the donor area, we do specialise in “zone-shaving” as well so that the shaven donor area can be hidden and will be unnoticeable.

Before the procedure takes place, patients will receive a local anaesthetic, and you may feel a slight pricking sensation (like the tip of a pen on the scalp). Soon afterwards the anaesthetic numbs the skin, relieving any sensation throughout the procedure.

In terms of recovery, patients may experience mild discomfort, itching or redness for a few days afterwards. However, these are generally mild enough that patients are able to return to work within a day or two, at most.
